
Steamer Clams
Ingredients
5 lb (2.5 kg) littleneck clams1 cup (250 mL) white wine
1/2 yellow onion, diced
2 sprigs parsley
1/2 lemon, sliced into wedges
1/2 cup (125 mL) butter (salted or unsalted), melted
4 slices crusty bread
Directions
Place clams, wine, onion and parsley into a large pot; cover.
Cook at medium high heat until pot begins to steam heavily—about 4 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow to sit for 2 to 3 minutes.
Place clams and broth in 2 serving bowls. Serve with lemon wedges, melted butter (to dip clams into) and a few slices of crusty bread to dip into the broth.
