Unexpected company would often drop by; there was always enough to feed a crowd. Here's a shopping list.

12 hamburger buns
1 pound (450 g) sliced salami
1 pound (450 g) sliced pepperoni
1 pound (450 g) sliced pastrami
1 pound (450 g) sliced provolone
2 medium green pepper
2 medium onions
4 medium tomato
4 dill pickles, sliced
2 heads leaf lettuce
Mayonnaise
Prepared mustard
Tabasco
Salt and pepper
