Seasoning mixes make meal prep easier, tastier

I have very seldom met anyone who doesn’t enjoy a nice, hot bowl of soup. However, I have met people who struggle, for various reasons, with making a flavourful homemade soup. For some it’s not being sure how to build flavors, for others it’s not having a variety of spices in hand, and for many, it’s just not having the time to simmer the soup long enough to build flavours.

But now, thanks to husband-and-wife entrepreneurs Laurie and Courtney Orser of Hartland, New Brunswick, anyone can make a fabulous bowl of goodness in no time! In 2019 the pair started Falavory Soups when Courtney felt herself having feelings of guilt because she felt she wasn’t putting together the healthiest and most flavourful meals that she could for her three children. That’s a feeling that probably all parents feel from time to time when planning and preparing meals for their families.

Unlike other mixes on the market that consist of freeze-dried vegetables, noodles and such, Falavory soups are seasoning mixes that allow you to add all of your favourite soup items to make a great soup. Each packet has a recipe in the back to guide you, and following their four-easy-steps process allows you to have a perfect pot of soup—that tastes like it’s been slowly simmered—on the table in just 30 minutes.

With nine delicious flavours to choose from, there is something for every palate. Homestyle chicken is their biggest seller, and the chowder mix is a popular mix in our kitchen. Other flavours are Dad’s Hamburger, Harvest Squash, Homestyle Beef, Loaded Potato, Mediterranean Chicken, Soo Cheesy Broccoli and Vegetable Tagine.

Because these packets carry all the seasonings needed, they are perfect for situations where spices may be limited, such as in RVs, cottages, and even university dorm rooms!
